1 person shot at Walmart in Northland on Wednesday

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – An argument between two people led to a fatal shooting in the parking lot of a Walmart in Northland Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting occurred around 4:20 p.m. in the parking lot of the store at 8551 N. Boardwalk Avenue.

An argument broke out between the victim and the suspect, resulting in the victim being shot at least once, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Off-duty officers at the store were able to alert other officers and a suspect was quickly arrested, police said.

Homicide investigators and forensic investigators were on site on Wednesday evening to collect evidence.

After the shooting, the store was closed during the day.
