10 quick facts about the Chiefs’ win over Cincinnati in Week 2

10 quick facts about the Chiefs’ win over Cincinnati in Week 2

2. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes made NFL history with Sunday’s victory.

Mahomes won his 76th regular-season game as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback on Sunday, tying Tom Brady and Roger Staubach for the most quarterback wins in NFL history in 100 starts.

Mahomes, who has started 98 games in his career, now has two chances to break the NFL record.

3. Safety Chamarri Conner had a memorable game.

Conner was in the middle of two game-winning plays on Sunday, and in many ways the Chiefs might not have won without his contribution.

His first crucial play came early in the fourth quarter. The Bengals were able to extend their six-point lead after a Chiefs turnover, but defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton sacked Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Conner scooped up the ball. The second-year safety returned the fumble for a 38-yard touchdown, and the Chiefs took the lead.

Conner then made another key play late in the game as Cincinnati, up by two points and facing a third down, tried to run down the clock. Conner, who looked like he had been shot out of a cannon on a blitz, had other plans, however, as he sacked Burrow and ended the drive.

The Bengals punted and as it turned out, Cincinnati would never see the football again.
