Each year, Nation’s Restaurant News presents the top 500 largest restaurants in America, ranked by systemwide sales in the previous fiscal year. This year, we’re using data from our partners at Technomic to bring you our best report yet.
In this report, you’ll learn about other chains that are right in the middle of the list: those ranked 300th through 251st. For each of these chains, you’ll also learn their system-wide sales and unit volumes for 2023.
Of these 50 chains, 34 reported system-wide sales increases in 2023, 20 of them in the double-digit percentage range. 27 opened net new stores (four kept the number of stores unchanged).
Standout companies in this section of the list include 100 Under 100 award-winning chain Ford’s Garage, which saw sales increase 29.5% and unit volume increase 20% last year.
These 50 chains generated sales of $6.5 billion last year in their nearly 4,000 stores.
