RB notes: My most important question before the season for Breece Hall was: Could he continue to catch so many passes? At least for one week, the answer was yes. After being pushed by the 49ers, the Jets should have a more favorable game script in Nashville. … As hoped/expected, the Eagles have their backfield committee in Saquon Barkleys debut, earning their signature free agent signing 80 percent of the snaps. Barkley’s 26 touches were the tenth most of his career, while his three Thirty percent of his 2023 total has already come in touchdowns. The Eagles, who nearly scored a touchdown as favorites at home on Monday night, are ready to go. … Bijan RobinsonHis 89 percent snap share in Week 1 was easily the highest of his career and only the second time he’s broken the 80 percent mark. Robinson’s 23 touches matched a career high despite a lousy offensive performance from the Falcons. That’s the only problem for Week 2. Robinson is finally being used the way fantasy managers have expected all along. … Jonathan TaylorHis 96 percent snap share against the Texans was the second-highest of his career. He actually has no replacement. In Week 2, he faces a Packers team that will have trouble holding onto the ball without Jordan Love at quarterback.

Joe Mixon managed 159 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries against the Colts, although his long run only yielded 13 points. That means he was constantly breaking tackles and was never stopped behind the line, even when he wasn’t breaking free for “the long run.” Perhaps it will go down as his best performance of the season, but his monopoly on snaps and touches makes him a strong RB1 for a home game where the Texans are pushing -7. … Kyren Williams‘ 91 percent snap share against the Lions was the fifth highest of his career. At least for one week, Blake Corum essentially stayed on the bus. The Rams’ blocking seemed to be a big problem, but another plus in Week 2 keeps Williams locked in as a high-end RB1. … We have late-stage Titans Derrick Henry in Week 1. That includes zero involvement in the passing game and surprisingly robust efficiency numbers despite a disappointing game report. Better days are ahead, as the Ravens face the Raiders at home as 10-point favorites. … Jordan Mason regrets to inform Christian McCaffrey is replaceable. Not really, but Mason has no competition in a game where the Niners are clear favorites.

Isiah Pacheco played 80 percent of the Chiefs’ snaps against the Ravens for only the second time in his career. It was a best-case scenario for the 2024 debut for fantasy managers who feared Samaje Perine’s addition. Hopefully it wasn’t just a temporary win. Perine will have had another 10 days to learn the playbook before Sunday’s game against the Bengals. If he fails to trouble Pacheco again, then we could really be in for a treat. … Kenneth WalkerRyan Grubb’s debut was his best performance in 2023. A likely reason? Fear of Grubb’s passing game invited the light boxes Walker has rarely been seen. Provided his side injury is not a problem, he is a strong option for away games against the Patriots. … Jahmyr Gibbs And David Montgomery remain locked in an open battle. As has typically been the case in 2023, both came home in Week 1. A week-long over/under of 51.5 against the Bucs bodes well for both on Sunday. … De’Von Achane has failed the “please just last one week without getting injured” challenge. However, the fact that his play is questionable on a short week suggests he may have avoided a dreaded ankle sprain. Despite the injury risk, he will be a must-start RB2 against the Bills if he goes.

Jeff Wilson has touchdown-based FLEX-Appeal in Raheem Mostert’s (breast) absence. Beginner Jaylen Wrights would fall into the same range if Achane were sitting. … We know Josh Jacobs will be the focal point of the Packers’ offense without Jordan Love. We just don’t know what will happen with Mailk Willis playing quarterback. The operation could go so wrong that Jacobs struggles with the RB2 workload, not to mention the results. … Travis Etienne still reached 70 percent of the Jaguars’ snaps in his shaky first week, but he also let Tank Bigsby surpassed the 30 percent mark for the first time in his career. Etienne was stopped by Bigsby and was outscored 5-3 after his now infamous fumble. Coach Doug Pederson gave a vote of confidence, but the long-rumored time-sharing may finally be happening. … Despite the garbage time nature of his production in Week 1, Bucky Irving seems to be a problem for Rachaad White either way. White’s firewall remains his pass-catching ability, which was prominent in the opener. He’s a strong RB2 for the highest projected play count for Week 2.

Even moderately improved play from Caleb Williams would keep Swift RB2 relevant in Houston. … Javonte Williams got a hell of a script in Week 1. That could be a theme with Bo Nix, but expect a titanic defensive battle with Mike Tomlin’s Steelers this week. … The Chargers stayed true to their word and have a “hot hand” backfield. JK Dobbins was literally on fire against the Raiders. Gus Edwards He is still expected to be used near the goal line, but Dobbins’ summer bull case could quickly come to fruition. … We’ve seen enough of the Raiders’ backfield to know that we should make our lineup decisions against it for now. … It wouldn’t surprise me if the Vikings’ injuries in the passing game end up leading to more touches for Ty Chandler.
