$5.8 million awarded for infrastructure improvements at Space Coast Regional Airport

.8 million awarded for infrastructure improvements at Space Coast Regional Airport

Governor Ron DeSantis has awarded the Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority over $5.8 million from the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund (JGGF).

The funding will support road infrastructure by providing direct access from Space Coast Innovation Park to Space Coast Regional Airport.

The JGGF award will help expand business opportunities at the park and is expected to create more than 900 jobs.

“Florida is the space capital of the country,” said Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. “Titusville and surrounding communities will benefit from these sought-after, well-paying jobs that will contribute to a stronger economy for families along the Space Coast.”

The JGGF will fund the construction of a 3,200-foot road to provide direct access from the three-phase Space Coast Innovation Park development project to the Space Coast Regional Airport.

The Space Coast Innovation Park will house up to seven commercial buildings totaling 1.4 million square feet of industrial space. The project is expected to have a positive financial impact of over $24.6 million.

“Under the Governor’s leadership, Florida continues to invest strategically and purposefully in the aerospace industry across our state,” said Secretary of Commerce J. Alex Kelly. “Today’s award is a great example of how such strategic support helps these industries gain a foothold in communities that have a vision to create a modern, high-wage, high-demand ecosystem.”

Recently, an aerospace company planned to build a 500,000-square-foot manufacturing and assembly facility in Florida that would create 1,030 well-paying jobs.

The Florida Job Growth Grant Fund is an economic development program designed to support public infrastructure and job training throughout the state.

Proposals will be reviewed by FloridaCommerce and selected by Governor DeSantis to meet workforce or infrastructure needs in communities across the state.
