Two years after winning a million dollars in the lottery, a woman in South Carolina hit the jackpot again: she won $300,000 in the South Carolina Education Lottery.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the South Carolina Education Lottery that her first win was the “biggest surprise” of her life, but her second win was even more unexpected.

“I started dancing around my office,” the woman told the lottery company. “It was a thrill.”

The South Carolina Education Lottery said the winner “beat odds of 1 in 700,000 to win $300,000 playing the $300,000 Gold Rush game.” Two of the game’s top prizes have yet to be won.

The woman’s second win occurred in the same way as her first, the South Carolina Education Lottery said in a press release.

“On her way to work, she picked up a $10 lottery ticket at King Fuel on Two Notch Road in Columbia,” the press release said. “She sat at her desk, scratched off the grand prize and put the ticket in her purse.”

Winner says she won’t tell anyone

Unlike her last win, this time the woman did not immediately take an early lunch break to claim her ticket. Instead, she waited until the next morning and took her ticket to the seller, who sold it to her. King Fuel received a $3,000 commission on the sale of the claimed ticket, the press release said.

The woman said she did not tell anyone about her big win and not even her colleagues knew about her lottery win.

“I’ll take three,” she said.
