Dave Grohl is reportedly prepared for his marriage to Jordyn Blum to end in divorce.
The Foo Fighters frontman, 55, hired a divorce lawyer before announcing Tuesday that he cheated on Blum, 48, and had a child out of wedlock, a source told PEOPLE in a report published Wednesday.
The Post has contacted Grohl’s representative for comment.
Grohl announced his infidelity in a statement on Instagram.
“I recently became the father of a little girl who was born outside of my marriage,” the musician wrote on Tuesday.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive father to her. I love my wife and children and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he added.
“We are grateful for your consideration for all the children affected as we move forward together,” he concluded his statement.
A spokesperson for Grohl told the Post that there was no further comment from the musician at this time.
The “Everlong” singer has been married to Blum since 2003. He recalled meeting her in 2001, years before the scandal.
“Taylor (Hawkins) and I were hanging out at the Sunset Marquis whiskey bar. Taylor was a real head turner. I mean, girls would send him drinks. Some bombshell shows up and starts talking to Taylor. I had just come from a Tenacious D session. I was wearing Vans sneakers, no socks, dirty shorts and a dirty T-shirt, surrounded by beautiful Hollywood,” he told Q Magazine about his late bandmate.
“She waved over her friend Jordyn. I was like, ‘Oh my God. No way!’ So I just had a couple of drinks and acted like an idiot. And at the end of the night I was mad and staring at her and thinking, ‘You’re my future ex-wife,'” he laughed. “So she gave me her number: ‘Jordyn, your future ex-wife.'”
Blum has yet to comment on his infidelity. However, her daughter Violet Maye, 18, appears to have deactivated her Instagram account. It is unclear when she first closed the page.
At the 2023 Glastonbury Festival in June 2023, the proud father brought Violet on stage to perform a song from his band’s latest album, “But Here We Are.”
“My favorite singer in the world,” he enthused at the time. “This is a song I wrote for my mother, Violet’s grandmother. It’s called ‘Show Me How.'”
The couple are also parents of daughters Harper Willow (15) and Ophelia Saint (10).
Grohl confirmed in his statement that his fourth child is also a girl.
