Hundreds of the biggest names in music and pop culture flocked to New York’s UBS Arena tonight for this year’s VMAs, capping off an eventful New York Fashion Week. Megan Thee Stallion pulls double duty as host and performer at the 2024 VMAs; the VMAs celebrated their 40th anniversary this year and the anniversary ceremony kicked off with an electrifying pre-show and a stunning black carpet that featured international sensations LE SSERAFIM.

The K-pop group is nominated for MTV Push Performance of the Year, their first-ever VMA nomination – the group joins more than 20 other acts and musicians nominated for the first time, including Tyla, Benson Boone, Shaboozey, Chappell Roan, RAYE, Coco Jones, Gracie Abrams, Burna Boy, NCT Dream, Gunna, Rauw Alejandro, Sexyy Red, Victoria Monét and many, many more.

Leading the nominations this year is Taylor Swift with a total of 12 nominations. Swift could match or break Beyoncé’s record for most VMAs ever won: Beyoncé’s current record is 25 VMAs as a solo artist and 29 overall victoriesSwift won two awards before the ceremony began, making her bound as the most awarded artist at the VMAs as a solo artist – she only needs 6 wins to become The Most awarded artist in the history of the VMAs in total.

Swift could Also to match or break Peter Gabriel’s record for most VMA wins in one night: Gabriel set the record with 10, and at the 2023 VMAs, Swift won 9, becoming the artist with the most VMA wins in a single night. Phew…
