Eminem returned earlier this year with his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace). The rapper’s new offering debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, giving him another collection of chart-toppers. While that title continues to languish, the musician’s most successful compilation hits a very special milestone.

Curtain up: The hits celebrates this framework. Eminem’s first collection of his biggest and most popular singles has now spent 700 weeks on the Billboard 200, Billboard Ranking of the most consumed LPs in the country.

Very few albums throughout history have managed to stay on the Billboard 200 for 700 weeks. Eminem is only the sixth musician to reach this significant number, and all six names before him have only had one title reach this total each.

The record for the longest stay on the Billboard 200 is currently held by Pink Floyd’s The dark side of the moon. This rock masterpiece will soon become the first release to hit the 1,000-frame mark—if it can just come back and hold out 10 more times.

Between Pink Floyd and Eminem, there are a handful of the most successful artists – and albums – in American history. This list includes Bob Marley and the Wailers’ legend (851 weeks), Journey’s Biggest hits (821), Metallica’s self-titled release (758) and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Chronicle: The 20 biggest hits (710), all of which have already exceeded the 700 rpm mark somewhere on the list.

Curtain up is the first hip-hop album ever to reach this number, and it will not be reached again anytime soon. Kendrick Lamar’s Good kid, MAAD City is the second longest-running song on the charts in hip hop, and it still has a long way to go before it reaches 700 weeks. The Grammy winner’s success story has almost 620 rounds under its belt.

This week, Eminem’s set falls and loses quite a bit of ground. In the last frame, it was at number 43, where it stayed for more than a while. Now it slips to number 80. The compilation is on Eminem’s list of 11 No. 1 hits on the Billboard 200.
