Halsey revives a Versace classic at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards!

The 29-year-old “Ego” singer wore a red dress that Elizabeth Hurley once wore in the ’90s on the VMAs carpet on Wednesday, September 11.

“It was literally a miracle to find this dress,” she said during the screening. “The dress was designed by Gianni Versace for Elizabeth Hurley in 1996 and hasn’t been worn since. From 1996 to now, and I’m just living it to the fullest. I love it.”

Hurley, 59, wore the dress to the grand opening of a Versace boutique in New York City in October 1996. The figure-hugging, sleeveless dress features a black leopard print over a bright red gown with glittery red accents throughout.

Halsey wore her bright red hair long and straight, her makeup was simple, with muted chestnut brown on her lips.

The singer, who uses the pronouns “she” and “her,” will perform at the VMAs for the first time since 2016 and sing a new song from her upcoming album. The great imitatorwhose release is scheduled for October 25th.

“I can’t wait,” they said. “I’m really excited.”

The star also revealed that her favorite VMA moment was the iconic kiss between Britney Spears and Madonna in 2003.

“I lay in my bed at night and just thought, ‘Oh God,’” she recalls.

In addition to Halsey, stars such as Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes and others will perform on stage.

“VMAS are gonna be insanely hard lol wow,” she tweeted on Tuesday, September 10.

The 2024 MTV VMAs will air live from the UBS Arena in New York on September 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
