Dave Bautista believes CM Punk could successfully make the transition from WWE star to full-time Hollywood actor.

In a new video for BuzzFeed, WWE legend Bautista was asked which current wrestler he thought would succeed in Hollywood. Bautista named Punk, saying he believes Punk’s potential as an actor is “pretty much unlimited.”

“You know, I think there’s someone who’s really been overlooked as an actor — I don’t know if he hasn’t pursued it as much as he would have liked because he’s still going strong in professional wrestling — but it’s CM Punk, Phil Brooks,” Bautista said. “His potential as an actor is pretty unlimited. So I really want to see more of him as an actor. I would really like to work with him. Because I think he has a passion for acting, but I think his heart is still in professional wrestling. Until he can let go of that a little bit, he’ll never be able to fully pursue acting. But I think Phil Brooks is a great actor.”

Punk has had several acting roles, including in the horror film The girl on the third floor and appearances in television shows Paragraphs And Mayans MC “With the aim of expanding his presence in the entertainment field,” he signed a deal with talent agency Paradigm earlier this year to be represented in all areas.

Punk will face Drew McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell match at WWE’s Bad Blood PLE on Saturday, October 5.

Bautista is currently on a media tour to promote his new film The murderer’s gamein which McIntyre plays a role. The film will be in theaters this Friday.
