Microsoft services were unavailable for some users on Thursday, with customers reporting problems accessing software tools from website functionality tracker Downdetector.

“Downdetector users are reporting potential issues with Microsoft services when connecting via AT&T Fiber in the Eastern US region,” reads a banner at the top of the site.

The reports relate to problems with Microsoft 365, which includes a range of business tools. Reports of problems began to spike shortly before 8 a.m. Eastern time on Thursday. By 9 a.m., more than 24,000 outages had been reported, according to Downdetector.

Downdetector only reports incidents that have a high number of complaints compared to a typical day.

“We are investigating an issue where users may be unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services,” the company said in a post on X.

Microsoft did not immediately respond to CBS MoneyWatch’s request for comment.
