Texans now have 30 days to file a claim with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for compensation for the damage caused by Hurricane Beryl, the agency said on Wednesday.

Since the July storm left millions of Houstonians without power for several days, FEMA has provided more than $700 million in relief funds to more than 650,000 Texas residents in 22 counties. In addition, FEMA has assisted 26,100 families who were housed in hotels until they could return home. The application deadline is October 10.

According to FEMA, homeowners and renters in Austin, Bowie, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, Orange, Polk, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity, Walker, Waller and Wharton counties may be eligible for assistance with uninsured losses.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has also approved over $247 million in low-interest disaster loans for homeowners, renters, nonprofits and businesses.

Texans can apply for assistance through FEMA’s website and app, at one of the agency’s 42 disaster assistance centers, or by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362.

Residents can also apply for SBA loans online or by phone at 800-659-2955. Houstonians can apply for the low-interest loans in person at the Business Recovery Center at the University of Houston Downtown Marilyn Davies College of Business.
