Josh Allen is one of the best football players in the NFL right now. He has broken many records in his first six seasons alone. One of his craziest records is that he is the only player in NFL history to score over 40 touchdowns in four consecutive seasons. With his 4-touchdown performance against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, he is on pace to reach five consecutive seasons of over 40 touchdowns.

In addition to his current pace of adding another 40+ touchdown season to the record books, he is also on pace to set the record for most touchdowns in a player’s first seven seasons in week three. Unfortunately, scoring four touchdowns in each of the next two games is a bit of a stretch. But given the way Allen is playing against the Miami Dolphins, he could very well score four touchdowns.

As mentioned, Allen is second all-time in touchdowns, six behind Patrick Mahomes (Mahomes with 231). Despite being drafted a year before Allen, Mahomes did not start his rookie season. Allen has also tied Dan Marino, who has 225 total touchdowns. Last year, Allen broke the record for most touchdowns in a player’s first six seasons, and last year surpassed the same Hall of Famer Marino who previously held the record.

After their win on Sunday, the mood is definitely high for the Buffalo Bills right now. Unfortunately, Allen is dealing with a left hand injury. The good news, however, is that Sean McDermott announced on Monday during his press conference that Allen will be allowed to practice on Monday and play against Miami on Thursday. Hopefully, the left hand injury won’t affect Allen’s activities too much, both in taking snaps and passing the ball.

Another record Allen set on Sunday against the Cardinals is tying the record for most games with 2+ passing touchdowns and 2+ rushing touchdowns (4). Allen is now tied with one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks, Steve Young. Definitely a great accomplishment for Allen and he could potentially make another game this year and lead in that stat.

What’s even more impressive about Allen and why he keeps breaking these records is a testament to the type of player Allen is. He was a highly touted quarterback coming out of college, but he was definitely a diamond in the rough. Combined with the lack of weapons in his rookie year and the lack of a great backup to help him develop further, it shows how well Allen has developed on his own.

These records that these great quarterbacks have set in NFL history, they were arguably surrounded by some of the best teams, or at least an above-average team. Allen could most likely go down as one of the top ten or fifteen quarterbacks in NFL history, and it’s all because of how hard he works to develop his game and how competitive he is.
