Ewan McGregor celebrates a major milestone in his career with his family.

On Thursday, September 12, the 53-year-old Emmy Award-winning actor received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and lovingly greeted his wife, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and all five of his children.

“I was very lucky to be working here with my daughter Clara on a film called Bleeding Love. Had a better title before, but some less creative people changed it,” McGregor said of his 28-year-old daughter. “What a privilege, I got to play Clara’s father and be Clara’s father at the same time.”

“I was on set and was re-inspired by seeing their passion and enthusiasm for what we do and the young cast that surrounded them,” said the proud father. “And I left feeling fulfilled and wanting more of it myself.”

McGregor noted that his 22-year-old daughter Esther could not attend the ceremony because she is currently working on a series in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

“My other two daughters, who are not actresses, are here. Anouk, who is too young for this, is an amazing human being. I don’t know what will become of you, but we will find out,” McGregor said of his 13-year-old daughter.

“Jamyan, my beautiful daughter Jamyan, I’m not going to play with Jamyan because Jamyan is going to be a homicide detective,” he continued of his 22-year-old. “She’s going her own way and we’re so proud of you, Jamyan, for everything you do and the things you’re going to do with your life.”

Finally, McGregor congratulated his youngest child and only son, Laurie.

“And my little boy, Laurie, down here. Laurie! This is Laurie McGregor. Would you like to say hello to everyone?” McGregor said to his three-year-old son as he turned back to the crowd.

McGregor has Laurie with Winstead. He has four daughters with his ex-wife Eve Mavrakis.

In March, McGregor and Winstead appeared on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show and talked about life at home with her son Laurie. McGregor, who plays the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the star Wars prequel trilogy and reprised the role for the 2022 miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobisaid he was looking forward to introducing his son to the character Grogu, also known as Baby Yoda.

“Our little boy just doesn’t stand a chance, does he? With the star Wars connection,” McGregor began, pointing out that Winstead was in the 2023 television series Ahsoka. “His mom and dad are now both…”

“He is, I mean, we just had The Mandalorian and he was like, ‘Wow. What is that?'” Winstead interjected.

McGregor noted that they showed him the show because he loves Grogu, and said they even tried to introduce Laurie to the people who puppeteer Grogu.

“All the boys were kind of standing off to the side but letting him work with their remotes, and Grogu was interacting with Laurie, and he was freaking out like he was completely crazy,” the father of five recalled.

“He was terrified,” Winstead added. “He didn’t want to go near it because he was very small at the time, about a year and a half old. So we picked him up and brought him to Grogu, and he climbed away. We just thought, ‘Oh my God. That was not the reaction we were hoping for.'”
