In southeast Michigan, rain is still likely on Friday night

(CBS) – Severe weather is possible across southeast Michigan Friday night between 4 and 10 p.m. as a cold front moves through the area.

A severe weather warning has been issued for St. Clair County until 9:30 p.m. Friday.

The Storm Prediction Center has classified Southeast Michigan as being at slight risk for storms. This category means that isolated severe storms are possible during the specified time period.

The biggest concern is damaging straight-line winds, followed by the risk of hail and flooding. Flooding is a risk in low-lying areas or under overpasses, as we have seen several times this summer.

There is also an isolated risk of tornadoes, but mainly north of I-96 and closer to the water.
