After becoming the most in-demand songwriter in the music business when it comes to releasing a hit single, Playboi Carti’s time is ripe for his long-awaited and oft-delayed album. Music. In typical Carti fashion, the self-proclaimed King Vamp didn’t give his fans much, let alone a concrete release date for the album, but he did offer hope in the form of a new single, “All Red.”

Not only does “All Red” trade in the high, squeaky voice we’ve heard him use on a number of releases for a deeper, Future-esque flow, but it’s also the first official release on streaming services that Carti has shared since 2020. Lots of redLike many of Carti’s tracks, it was first teased through snippets on social media, although he performed the song in its entirety during his headlining performance at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash in Chicago in June.

Carti’s new flow pairs with his usual approach to wordplay and gives “All Red” a menacing yet playful mood. It certainly bodes well for Music that Carti seems to be fully motivated and is actually releasing new music again.

However, just because he hasn’t released any official music doesn’t mean we haven’t heard from him recently. In August, he appeared alongside Drake on the leaked track “No Face,” which also hasn’t been officially released yet.
