NFL Week 2 Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (2024)

NFL Week 2 Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (2024)

Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s latest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action and they delivered. We’re going to break down our top three picks for this week’s NFL action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular full-season fantasy platforms and is expanding into other areas as demand increases. Each week here we’ll talk about some strategies for the new platform and give our favorite NFL picks (more/less).

Insider tips for NFL Week 2

2024 season record: 1-2

JK Dobbins (RB – LAC): 54.5 rushing yards

Dobbins looked healthy in Week 1, managing 135 rushing yards on just 10 carries. The Chargers’ offensive line is a strength with the signing of Joe Alt and should continue to open up big, gaping holes for the running game. Dobbins benefited from easier boxes than Gus Edwards and should continue to do so going forward, as the opponent is always thinking about running when Gus Edwards is in the game. Dobbins faces a disaster of a team (and organization) in the Carolina Panthers, who will be without top defensive lineman Derrick Brown this weekend, which puts him on the 100-rushing-yard radar. I actually considered tapping Alt’s line of 30.5 rushing yards, but since the opponent is the Panthers, Dobbins should be able to reach that number relatively easily, even in a committee. More on Dobbins for Week 2.

Selection: More

Jameson Williams (WR – DET): 47.5 yards gained

The Jameson Williams we’ve all been waiting for was there in Week 1, completing five of his nine passes for 121 receiving yards and one rush for 13 yards. The former 12th pick has been a long time coming, but the Lions finally have the field-stretching, homer-hitting complement to Amon-Ra St. Brown they’ve been hoping for. Amon-Ra and Sam LaPorta remain the top options in the passing game, but if the Lions can continue to establish Jameson as a real threat, he’ll make a splash where Amon-Ra and LaPorta are good. Jameson won’t add up to much more than 32 percent receiving yards this season, if at all, but 47.5 receiving yards is only worth about three receptions for someone who had a 14.1 aDot in Week 1. Jab the More on Jameson for his Week 2 matchup against a banged-up Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary.

Selection: More

Rashee Rice (WR – KC): 72.5 yards gained

Rashee was excellent in Week 1, completing seven of his nine passes for 103 receiving yards. Rice was already a breakout candidate based on his strong play at the end of last season and in the playoffs, but the attention Travis Kelce is commanding, along with the signing of Xavier Worthy (and potentially Marquise Brown if he’s healthy) will serve to open up more big opportunities for the second-year receiver. The jump in More’s number from 63.5 to 72.5 this week is pretty alarming, as most knew Rashee would have a strong season, so consider the alternate line. However, for those who don’t like giving up multipliers this early in the season, Rashee should still reach that inflated number thanks to a plus matchup against a Cincinnati Bengals team that always seems to have some struggles early in the season.

Selection: More

Authors’ Note: The lines at Sleeper are constantly changing, so there’s a high chance that one or all of the numbers won’t be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values to be had when they first come out, the only catch is that they don’t all come out at the same time. Being vigilant could literally yield a solid return on investment this season.
