Iowa High School Football Scores, IHSAA Week 3 Updates

It’s Week 3 of the high school football season in Iowa, and there are several big IHSAA games scheduled across the state tonight.

Check out this live blog below for the latest updates from across the state. It will update throughout the night until all games are completed.

IHSAA results and updates from Week 3 of the Iowa High School Football season

The Rams are trailing 17-14 at the end of the third quarter. Southeast Polk is currently trailing at about the halfway line.

The score is now 2-0 between the Jags and the Tigers. Centennial leads 17-7.

The Tigers take the lead on the first play of the fourth quarter. On the fourth and fifth attempt, DeGroote throws a pass into the end zone between defenders and into the hands of Jayden Brown.

2-point conversion from DeGroote to Zay Robinson makes it 20-17.

The Warriors lead 42-0 against Sioux City North.

The Dragons penetrate deep into Valley territory, but are unable to get the ball in and settle for a short field goal.

In the third quarter the score is now 17-12.

Indianola fights back from a 13-0 deficit and is now only three points behind.

It’s halftime and we have a battle between the top 10 teams in Class 5A.

Johnston came down and had the first chance to score inside the 3-yard line, but the Tigers held on and forced a turnover.

Johnston still leads 14-12, but this is a huge stoppage for Valley.

The Rams trailed 7-0 at the end of the first quarter, but were tied 14-14 at halftime, so it should be an exciting second half.

Ankeny kicker Ryan Harrington scores a short field goal, his second field goal of the half, to tie the score with Dowling at 13-13 at halftime.

A pick by LaMarious Clark made this scoring drive possible.

The Maroons get the ball at the start of the second half.

In Cedar Falls the score is 7:7 between the Jags and the Tigers. It’s just halftime.

Class 2A No. 2 West Lyon leads 20-0 at halftime against Class 1A No. 3.

The Hawks score a long field goal from about 40 yards. Dowling leads 13-10 towards the end of the second quarter.

The Jags, ranked No. 2 in our 5A rankings, break the stalemate against No. 7 Cedar Falls, leading 7-0 to the Jags late in the second quarter.

Valley stormed down the field and was within field goal range with just two seconds left in the first half, but the Tigers could not complete a 42-yard pass.

Johnston leads 14-12 at halftime.

It’s still tight out there. 24 minutes after halftime, the game is still open.

The Lightning, who have caused a surprise under their new coach Scott Chandler, are on equal terms with the long-standing team Pleasant Valley.

In our rankings, the score between teams No. 8 and No. 9 is 7:7. Towards the end of the first quarter.

The Dragons’ lead quarterback ran right and found a completely free Nathan King in the end zone from 37 yards out. A great route and a precise pass gave the Dragons a 14-12 lead over the Tigers after the PAT.

Those two missed PATs from Valley could be crucial here.

The senior running back for Dowling has already scored his second touchdown of the season in his first game of 2024. He hammers the ball in from four yards out and gives the Maroons a 13-7 lead over Ankeny after the PAT.

Drake DeGroote finds Zay Robinson on a slant and Robinson easily runs into the end zone. Valley misses the PAT again, their second missed PAT of the night, and Valley has a 12-7 lead.

It’s only a quarter of the action and there’s still plenty of time to play, but the Rams are already facing their second loss of the year in Week 3. The Rams trail 7-0 after the first quarter.

Class 4A No. 1 Lewis Central takes a 10-7 lead over No. 6 ADM after an interception and an immediate long pass score on the first play of possession.

Since then, LC has scored another point on a QB run by Brady Hetzel, putting the Titans ahead 17-7 with less than a minute left in the first quarter.

The Scarlets, looking to get to 3-0 for the first time in a long time, trail early against Lincoln after a touchdown drive.

7-0 for Lincoln with just over a minute left in the first quarter.

After the Valley defense forced a punt, Drake DeGroote evaded the pressure, rolled left and found tight end Zach Schemper for a 55-yard touchdown pass.

A missed PAT makes it 7-6, Johnston.

The Gaels lead Baxter 28-0 less than four minutes into the game. There were two pick-6s very early in the game.

Senior RB Ra’Shawd Davis, playing for the first time this season, finds a direct hit for the Maroons and cuts the deficit to one point. PAT is not good, though.

Ankeny leads early 7-6.

The Norsemen march across the field and quarterback Sam Knoll scores a sneak touchdown from close range.

Norsemen led 7-0 against South Hamilton in the opening quarter.

The J-Hawks, still looking for their first win of the season, are behind early in this game against Bettendorf.

The Warriors earned a clear win over Waukee Northwest last week thanks to a strong offense, and now they’re back on the scoreboard early in Week 3 with a short touchdown run by Beckett Bakker.

Waukee took an early 7-0 lead over Sioux City North in this game.

The Dragons struck first, thanks to a scoop and score by Jeffrey Scott. Austin Gray forced the fumble out of Valley’s quarterback’s hands and Scott picked it up and ran it back 45 yards for a score.

The Hawks take a 7-0 lead with a BIG passing play over No. 1 Dowling.

It’s 7 p.m., which means it’s time for kickoff of the Iowa high school football game under the Friday night floodlights.
