Tropical Storm Debby impacted travelers at Logan Airport this week, causing delays and cancellations of hundreds of flights.

The storm was a Category 1 hurricane when it first made landfall in Florida on Monday, brought more than a foot of rain to parts of the South and made landfall in South Carolina for a second time early Thursday morning, NBC News reported.

“The greatest threat from Debby continues to be flash flooding from heavy rainfall… the worst in parts of North Carolina and Virginia today and further north in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States on Friday,” the National Hurricane Center wrote Thursday morning.

According to flight tracking service FlightAware, there were 129 delays and 10 cancellations at Logan through Thursday afternoon, and 332 delays and 39 cancellations on Wednesday.

This week’s cancellations followed a chaotic weekend in which up to 25 flights to Logan were diverted due to bad weather, stranding passengers, although some airlines allowed itinerary changes.

By Wednesday, ongoing cancellations and delays left passengers waiting in long lines and sleeping on the floor at Logan Airport, NBC10 Boston reported.

Rosa Godinho, who was flying with Delta Air Lines, told NBC10 Boston that she spent the night in Logan Airport’s Terminal A. She said all nearby hotels were booked.

Massport has posted the following weather warning on its Logan Airport and Worcester Regional Airport warning page: “Due to Hurricane Debby, flights to and from the Southeastern United States may be impacted over the next few days. If you are planning travel to this region, please check with your airline.”
