There’s something wrong with Jane’s addiction.

Fans saw it all happen on stage at the band’s show in Boston on Friday (see video below).

Frontman Perry Farrell appeared to attack guitarist Dave Navarro and had to be restrained and escorted off the stage.

The angry-looking 65-year-old Farrell also seemed to have initiated the conflict himself, as fan videos from that evening show.

At first, Farrell appeared to be simply engrossed in his performance of the band’s 1989 song “Ocean Size” at Boston’s Leader Bank Pavilion. But after he collided with Navarro’s body, the singer appeared to scream in anger and lashed out.

Navarro, 57, did not appear to resist and appeared confused when Farrell aggressively approached him during the band’s rendition of the song.

Navarro, bassist Eric Avery and crew members tried to stop and calm Farrell.

Jane’s Addiction, who played at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City on September 7, were on tour with Love and Rockets.

As Variety reported, this is the band’s first reunion tour with its full classic lineup – Farrell, Navarro, Avery and drummer Stephen Perkins – in 14 years.

Farrell and Avery formed Jane’s Addiction in 1985 (Farrell is also known as the founder of the music festival Lollapalooza in 1991 and as the founder of the band Porno for Pyros with Perkins in 1992).

The Los Angeles band’s debut album, “Nothing’s Shocking” (1988), was nominated for a Grammy, as was their second album, “Ritual De Lo Habitual.”

The alternative rockers’ hits include “Been Caught Stealing” (1990), which was nominated for two Grammys, “Jane Says” (1988), “Stop!” (1990) – exactly what everyone wanted from Farrell on Friday night – and “Just Because” (2003).

Their first show together took place in London in May, followed by a European tour.

The band released the new song “Imminent Redemption” in July, their first song with Avery in 34 years, since “Ritual De Lo Habitual”.

Jane’s Addiction is scheduled to play 15 more shows on their US tour, including Sunday at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Is Farrell’s redemption imminent?

We have to wait and see what Jane says.
