Miller Moss is an up-and-coming candidate for the 2025 NFL Draft

USC QB Miller Moss | Week without a game

Müller Moos has only three games for the USC Trojans and it’s clear his focus is solely on this program and this year’s team. But in these three games, including two wins against ranked teams, he’s done enough to put himself in the fast-riser conversation long before the 2025 NFL Draft.

Pro Football Focus listed Moss as one of eight players whose value increased over the first two weeks of the college football season. And more importantly, both CBS Sports and the Draft Network have Moss firmly pegged as a first-round pick in their recent mock drafts.

CBS sends Moss to the New York Giants as the third pick in the draft, saying, “Moss lands with another franchise that probably (read: is clearly moving toward) a quarterback upgrade. He has the wherewithal to succeed in the NFL.”

Draft Network sees Moss as number 13 for the Seattle Seahawks just a little later: “The Seahawks found a good transition player in Geno Smith, but the truth is that he is in the second half of his career. The Seahawks did a good job in the draft and have talented young players on both sides of the football. So with this pick, they are drafting Miller Moss, a quarterback who can grow with these young players and make the Seahawks a key factor in the NFC over the next 10 years.”

Moss is a redshirt junior with one year of eligibility remaining with the Trojans. He has given no public indication of which direction he is leaning: returning for another season or moving on to the NFL after this season. The Trojans have seen quarterbacks experience both as far as leaving early or returning to school. Both Matt Leinart and Matt Barkley looked like they might leave as juniors, but decided to return to USC for another year. Mark Sanchez and Sam Darnold both left early to head to the NFL. Sanchez played a full season as a starter for the Trojans, had one year of eligibility remaining and was selected with the No. 5 overall pick. Darnold became a starter during his redshirt freshman season and retained that position the following year. He had two years of eligibility remaining and was selected with the No. 3 overall pick.

In two games this season, Moss has completed 72.7% of his passes for 607 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Moss and the Trojans have a lot of work to do this season to achieve the individual and team goals they have set for themselves. They have a week off before traveling to Ann Arbor to face Michigan It will be USC’s first Big Ten conference game.
