Demi Moore gives an update on the health of her ex-husband Bruce Willis during the interview with Drew Barrymore

Demi Moore has provided an update on her ex-husband Bruce Willis’ health as she and fellow actress Drew Barrymore reflected on their first encounters with the action star.

Moore, 61, has three daughters with Willis, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) last year.

Willis and Moore met at the premiere of the action comedy StakeoutThey married in 1987 after a whirlwind four-month romance before announcing their separation in 1998 due to “irreconcilable differences”.

In an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, The presenter recalled filming with Willis on the set of Charlie’s Angels in 2003.

“When we did that Charlie’s AngelsBruce came and played on it, he opens the film, and we got to work with him,” Barrymore recalled.

Moore, who also starred in the film, said: “I had completely forgotten about that.”

They remembered knowing Willis from his time as a bartender at Cafe Central in New York. Barrymore then asked Moore how the Die Hard actor now did.

“I think he is, you know, in a stable situation under the circumstances,” The substance Star explains.

“You know, I always tell my children: meet them where they are. Don’t hold on to who they were or what you expect of them, but to who they are in this moment.

“And there’s so much beauty and joy and love and sweetness that comes from that. When I’m in LA, I go there every week and I really cherish the time that we all spend together.”

In March 2022, it was first announced that Bruce Willis had been diagnosed with aphasia, a speech disorder caused by brain damage that can lead to difficulty understanding, speaking, reading or writing.

Last year, his daughter Rumer provided an update, saying he had received a “more specific” diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a “rare and aggressive” form of the disease.

According to Dementia UK, FTD is an umbrella term for a group of dementias that primarily affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, which are responsible for personality, behavior, language and speech, among other things.

Earlier this year, Moore released a touching tribute to the father of her children on his 69th birthday.

Moore shared three photos showing the two chatting on the sofa, Willis playing with his granddaughter and an old photo of him with his three daughters.

She captioned the post with the message: “Happy birthday BW! We love you and are so thankful for you.”
