The Philadelphia 76ers have done an excellent job of filling out their roster with supporting players after signing Paul George to a four-year, $211.5 million maximum contract.

One position that is still missing, however, is that of power forward, where the 1.96 m tall Caleb Martin is expected to start.

The 6’1″ Morris would be an ideal fit for his hometown, where he played 37 games last season before being traded from the Indiana Pacers to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Buddy Hield. Morris later signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he averaged 5.8 points in 15 minutes per game and made 41.4 percent of his three-pointers.

According to Morris, he would be interested in returning to the 76ers.

“Certainly,” Morris said of Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. “I’ve built a really good relationship with those guys. … Obviously, it just felt different being here with (Joel) Embiid for a long time and playing (against) Philly and then just being on his side.

“It felt like it just helped my career. Sometimes you do this for so long that you find different things that motivate you to keep playing. Being home is one of those things for me.”

With the 76ers’ roster at 13 players, there is a spot open for Morris, assuming he is willing to play on a veteran’s minimum contract.
