If you’ve ever shopped at Costco, you’ve no doubt seen the Kirkland Signature name all over the store. Kirkland is Costco’s signature store brand, and you’ll find it on a wide range of products, some of which are absolutely great buys. Here are five Kirkland products you may want to buy again and again.
1. Muffins from Kirkland Bakery
Kirkland muffins are not only fluffy, moist and delicious, but also unbeatably cheap.
You should know that prices at Costco can vary depending on your location. But I live in an area with a pretty high cost of living, and at my local Costco, a 12-count box of jumbo muffins costs $9.99. I would imagine the price is the same or lower in most areas.
Recently, a friend and I stopped at a local bakery to get a muffin and a cup of coffee. They charged us $10 for two muffins that were much smaller than the ones at Costco. And honestly, they weren’t as good.
Plus, Costco lets you build your muffins in six-packs, so if you don’t want a dozen blueberry muffins, you can get six of these and six more corn, chocolate, or vanilla chip muffins instead. At least, that’s the current flavor selection at my local Costco. Yours might be different. Plus, you can expect more options to pop up depending on the season, like pumpkin crumble in the fall.
2. Kirkland Signature Creamy Almond Butter
Some people dislike almond butter, referring to it as the inferior cousin of peanut butter. As a peanut butter lover, I can attest that the two are very different. But I also happen to love almond butter. And if you do too, be sure to buy yours at Costco.
The online price for Kirkland Signature Creamy Almond Butter is $7.49 for a 27-ounce jar. That works out to $0.28 per ounce. Since my local supermarket charges $7.89 for 16 ounces, or $0.49 per ounce, the Kirkland version is much cheaper. And let me tell you – it’s probably the best almond butter I’ve ever tasted.
Plus, that $7.49 is the price you’ll pay for Kirkland Almond Butter on-line. Costco’s store prices are almost always cheaper.
3. Kirkland Signature Peanut Butter Filled Pretzel Nuggets
So, back to the topic of peanut butter: If you like pretzels and peanut butter, you’ll love Kirkland’s Peanut Butter Stuffed Pretzel Nuggets. They’re a hearty snack that you can enjoy at almost any time of day (I might, er, eat them for breakfast occasionally). I also like to take them with me when I go on a long hike.
You can buy a 55-ounce jar of these bad boys online for $11.99, or $0.22 per ounce. But again, you’ll probably pay less at the store.
4. Kirkland Signature Men’s Sports Socks 8 Pairs, White
Don’t think that Kirkland products are only for food. You can find the Kirkland label on many other items, including clothing.
In the past, I’ve brought home quite a few comfy Kirkland loungewear items, from pajama pants to fleece sweatshirts. But these are truly one-time purchases, as opposed to recurring ones. However, if you go through socks in your household like we do, you’ll want to make sure to continually stock up on the Kirkland version.
For example, Kirkland Men’s Athletic Socks last longer than any other socks my husband has ever worn, and that’s saying something. Plus, he says they’re the most comfortable socks he owns, and he’s someone who’s spent $20 on a single pair of running socks.
Now we buy these Kirkland socks in packs of 8. And honestly, the price is so low that it no longer bothers me when his socks get dirty, worn out, or lost (the theory is that the dog hides and buries them somewhere, but who knows).
The online price for these Kirkland socks is $13.99, or $1.75 per pair. But check with your local store to see what price they offer. And also know that Kirkland makes women’s socks too.
5. Kirkland Signature Petrol
One of the best things you can buy at Kirkland isn’t something you can bring home in the trunk of your car. Rather, it’s something you put in your car – gas.
I cannot claim that I have tested the performance of my car on a tank of Kirkland petrol compared to that of a competitor. But I may say that Kirkland gas is by far the cheapest in my town, so I highly recommend stopping by Costco when your tank is almost empty so you can fill up with Kirkland gas yourself.
Kirkland products tend to be high quality and inexpensive, which is a winning combination if I’ve ever seen one, so I’d really encourage you to give these Kirkland items a try if you’ve never brought them home (or, in the case of gas, put them in your tank).
