Week 2 is in full swing as the Seattle Seahawks face the New England Patriots in Foxboro. It is Seattle’s first visit to Gillette Stadium since the 2016 season.
The Patriots were the first to score a touchdown on their second possession, taking an early 7-0 lead over the Seahawks, but Geno Smith and Co. responded accordingly to the bell.
On the fourth play of Seattle’s second possession, Smith faced a 2nd-and-5. Smith dropped back and found a completely open DK Metcalf for an explosive 56-yard touchdown… the Seahawks’ longest touchdown play of the young season.
It’s also Metcalf’s first touchdown of the year, having already surpassed his Week 1 yardage output. If the Seahawks can get Metcalf going, this offense will be truly dynamic.
At the time of publication, the first quarter is over. We are tied 7-7, New England is marching. The Patriots will have the ball at Seattle’s 47-yard line.
