KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Kansas City Chiefs scored their first regular-season touchdown by an offensive lineman in four years in the third quarter against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Wanya Morris, a backup, caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to give the Chiefs a 17-16 lead. The Bengals attempted a play-fake and left Morris unprotected in the end zone.

Eric Fisher was the last Chiefs lineman to score a touchdown for the Chiefs in 2020. Nick Allegretti later scored one in a playoff game following the 2021 season.

Shortly after, the defense made a great play when Chamarri Conner converted a 38-yard fumble return for a touchdown and the Chiefs took a 23-22 lead, which they maintained even after they failed to make a two-point attempt.

Joe Burrow was chased out of the pocket by Chris Jones and then sacked by Mike Danna and Tershawn Wharton. The ball came out for Conner, who scooped it up and scored.

Early in the game, wide receiver Rashee Rice used his speed to help Kansas City to a 10-10 tie in the second quarter.

Rice passed cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt down the left sideline and caught a 44-yard touchdown pass from Mahomes.

The game was the second longest of Rice’s career. Last year, as a rookie, he also caught a 67-yard pass against the Bengals.
