BALTIMORE — Mild and humid weather tonight with low clouds. Monday will be dry before a shower sets in Monday night into Friday.

A Flood Warning is in effect for Anne Arundel County from 2 a.m. Monday through 10 p.m. Tuesday. This will likely continue through the end of the week as there are long east to northeast winds and the full moon approaches. Minor flooding is likely at high tide. There is a chance that some of the coastal flooding will reach moderate intensity, so check back often for updates.

After a lovely and warm Sunday with highs in the 30s, we’re expecting quite a dramatic change in the weather next week. The glorious weather will continue until this evening, with temperatures in the 21s until 11pm. Low clouds will increase throughout the night and temperatures will only fall to the mid to upper 18s.

Potential Tropical Cyclone 8 formed at 5 p.m. this evening. The path of this system will bring it ashore on the South Carolina coast on Monday afternoon as Tropical Storm Helene. The tropical storm will weaken as it moves westward, but we will still feel the moisture from the remnants of Helene this week. Here are the latest path and intensity forecasts from the National Hurricane Center:

Showers are possible as early as Monday evening, especially south of Baltimore. Rain chances are higher on Tuesday and Wednesday as the core of the system moves west. We are on the east side of the circulation, which will bring showers and thunderstorms to the region. It is currently unclear how much rain this storm system will bring.

1 to 3 inches of rain is likely by the end of the work week. Tuesday and Wednesday look to be the wettest days, but Thursday and Friday will also see isolated showers. While there won’t be a complete rainstorm this week, there will be several showers and thunderstorms, so have your rain gear ready.

By next weekend there should be some clearing, especially on Sunday.
