The Cowboys and Rams face each other in the only Sunday game of the first week of NFL preseason.

The Cowboys begin their march toward another NFC East title, while the Rams try to return to the postseason again, where they fell to the Lions in the NFC Wildcard round.

Dallas has a lot of talent back, including Dak Prescott, who is back at quarterback. Receiver CeeDee Lamb is still looking for a long-term contract with the team, but hopes for an extension.

According to Stephen Jones’ recent interview with The Doomsday Podcast on Thursday, CBS Sports confirmed that the plan going forward is to keep Lamb, Prescott and linebacker Micah Parsons.

“We think highly of CeeDee and we understand his motivations and why he’s not here,” Jones said. “But we continue to work hard to get this deal done. … Zero. Zero. Zero thoughts about CeeDee not being a Dallas Cowboy.”

Contract negotiations may be on hold for now as the Rams and Cowboys look to trim down their roster and equip it as well as possible before September.
