The Hacking The star’s 72-year-old mother expressed her disapproval on social media about The bear star Liza Colon-Zayas She won an Emmy in the category “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.”
Einbinder’s daughter Hannah, 29, was nominated in this category alongside Colón-Zayas, 52, for her portrayal of Ava Daniels in the Max series.
“F—. THE. BEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Newman, a Saturday Night Live alum, wrote on Sunday, September 15, about X. Newman deleted the post soon after, telling a fan who questioned her opinion, “I know. I deleted it. Not my best moment.”

Newman then wrote of X: “I think ‘The Bear’ is a great show, but in my opinion it is not a comedy – not even a black comedy.”
Newman wasn’t the only person to comment on the FX series’ placement at the Emmys as a comedy series. Eugene Levywho moderated the event with his son Daniel Levyspoke some “universal truths” about The bear during the couple’s monologue.

The remarks earned nods from two stars of the show, Ayo Edebiri And Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
Critics and fans commented for the first time on The bear was classified as a comedy after the controversy first arose at the 2023 Emmy Awards. At the ceremony, the series received 10 awards, including Best Comedy Series.

The guidelines also state: “The Academy reserves the right to have the category placement reviewed by the Academy’s Industry Panel.”
