For two teams that aren’t even in the same division, there’s no greater rivalry than the one we’ve seen over the last few years between the Bengals and the Chiefs, and once again, the win came down to the last drive.

One look at Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and you know exactly what it would have meant for Cincinnati to leave Arrowhead Stadium with a win on Sunday.

Facing a two-point deficit on fourth-and-16, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a desperation pass to Rashee Rice. The pass was incomplete, but a flag came into view when Bengals cornerback Daijah Anthony Rice flew into the back.

While the Chiefs have benefited from some questionable calls in the Mahomes era, you can’t blame the referees in this case. Anthony made contact early and it wasn’t particularly close.

However, Burrow’s reaction on the sidelines showed the true rollercoaster of emotions in this game.

The Bengals quarterback wanted to celebrate the victory before he saw the flag. In frustration, he hit the ground with his helmet and Harrison Butker secured the win for Kansas City a few plays later.

It was a play the Bengals would surely like to repeat.
