Chiefs player Brown out for rest of season after shoulder X-ray

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) – An injury sustained during the first game of the season will keep Kansas City Chiefs tight end Marquise “Hollywood” Brown off the field for the entire regular season.

On Saturday, September 14, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that sources had told him that Marquise “Hollywood” Brown will not play in the 2024 regular season due to a shoulder injury that will now require surgery.

Sources have told Schefter that there is still a chance Brown can play in the postseason, but he would not be back until mid-January.

On Friday, head coach Andy Reid told the media that Brown is expected to be out for several months after suffering a shoulder injury while catching a pass during the first play of the first preseason game.

Brown announced in a post to X on Friday night that a final examination of his shoulder revealed the bone had dislocated, requiring surgery, but he plans to return to the field as soon as possible.

The Kansas City Chiefs will face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, September 15th at 3:25 p.m. at Arrowhead Stadium.

Chiefs' Hollywood Brown was hospitalized during his team's game in Jacksonville in August.
