After a successful trip to Brazil and a 34-29 comeback win over the Packers last week, the Eagles return to Philadelphia on Monday night for their first home game against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Eagles offense got off to a rocky start in the first game, losing the ball twice deep in their own half, but the defense only allowed two field goals, giving the Eagles a chance to turn things around. Running back Saquon Barkley was the star of the show, setting an Eagles record with three touchdowns in his debut for Philadelphia.
Kirk Cousins’ debut in Atlanta was not quite as well received. The veteran signal caller threw two interceptions in his first game with the Falcons – an 18-10 loss to the Steelers. However, the Falcons’ defense played a crucial role in Week 1, keeping the Steelers out of the end zone and allowing just 270 yards of offense.
