Fatal motorcycle accident in Winter Park claims one life

A fatal motorcycle crash in Winter Park on Saturday, August 10 left a man dead in the area of ​​Leland Circle and Kings Crossing Road. An investigation by Fraser Winter Park Police found that a 43-year-old man on a dirt bike lost control and crashed into a signpost.

Police said a local resident arrived at the scene and reported that the man was unresponsive. First responders on the scene performed CPR, but the victim was pronounced dead.

The investigation revealed that the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on King Crossing Road when he lost control of his vehicle while approaching the intersection. The motorcyclist then veered approximately 40 feet off the roadway when he struck the sign.



The Winter Park man was not wearing a helmet, police said. His identity is currently being kept secret until his family can be notified, after which an autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause of death.

Police were assisted by the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, Grand County EMS, East Grand Fire Protection District No. 4 and the Grand County Coroner’s Office.
