Melania Trump has defended her decision to pose for nude photos during her modeling career.
In a post published on X on Wednesday to promote her new memoir, the former first lady talks about a video that features some of the most recognizable works of art and sculptures of naked gods, heroes and other icons.
The works of art that Trump apparently compares himself to include “Lady Godiva” by John Collier, a statue of Eve by Jean-Alexandre-Joseph Falguière and “Les Grandes Baigneuses” by Paul Cézanne.

Set to the background music of a dramatic symphony, the video poses two main questions.
“Why am I proud of my work as a nude model?” is the first question.
But the “more pressing question,” said the former First Lady, is “why did the media choose to scrutinize my glorification of the human form in a fashion photo shoot?”
“We should honor our bodies and embrace the timeless tradition of using art as a powerful means of self-expression,” she explains before a dramatic pause is built into the music.
The video ends with a cover of her memoirs. Melaniawhich is expected to be released in October. She has said she believes the book can “set the record straight” regarding the criticism she has faced and reveal the naked truth about her life and career.

The images from the shoot resurfaced in 2016 during Trump’s presidential campaign, while other photos from a spread in a men’s magazine originally printed in 1997 were republished by New York Post.

“Melania was one of the most successful models and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines. This picture was taken for a European magazine before I knew Melania. In Europe, such pictures are very fashionable and common,” he told the newspaper at the time.
