Scott Stapp, frontman of 90s band Creed, wants Americans to stand up for the Bible and their rights.

“In my opinion, that is exactly what the powerful want,” said the singer said on stage at one of his concerts. “They want to divide us. They want to isolate us. They want to put us in our own little group because we’re right and they’re wrong and because we’re fighting. Do you know why? To distract us from holding them accountable.”

Stapp believes that indoctrination begins in kindergarten.

“They start dividing and programming us in kindergarten,” he said. “They teach us how to be a good slave to authority. How to do this and that and think this and that, all while putting us in this divided group of advantages and disadvantages. Wake up!”

The singer continued to scream “Wake up!” as his audience cheered.

He continued: “Your civil rights are being violated every single minute of every single day… The only way to make change is to wake up and come together and focus on what we have in common, which is life, liberty, love and happiness. We find our commonalities and build on that.”

Stapp also suggested that many of today’s government leaders ignore and forget the basic principles of our country.

“We remind them of what is in our Constitution. We remind them of what is in our Bill of Rights. We remind them that we are the people of a republic based on the Bible and the Word of God, not a democracy.”

Stapp is open about his patriotism and devotion to America. Last year, the singer appeared in “a film called ALL-STAR SALUTE TO LEE GREENWOOD.” The film helped “honor veterans who have served this great nation,” Movieguide® previously reported. He also appeared in REAGAN, which hit theaters last month.

Faith is also important to the singer.

“In 2013, he said he was using alcohol and drugs amid depression, despair and time away from the band. Paranoid, he checked into the Delano Hotel in Miami, Florida, where he thought the police were after him. He then climbed onto his balcony, lost his footing and fell 40 feet onto a ledge covered in seagull droppings,” The Christian Post reported.

He dedicated his life to Christ and affirmed in 2014 that he was trying to walk with the Lord.

“As you all know, I have rededicated my life to Christ over the last few years. I am a Christian and proud of it,” he said at the time. “And I love God with all my heart and I am very excited about the future when I can finally fully dedicate my music and my life and my testimony and my message to what God has done in my life, the power of Christ and how he has done so many wonderful things for me,” he said.
