47 Things Under $50 to Modernize Your Home

47 Things Under to Modernize Your Home

Promising review (from 2018; long, but great reading!): “Update May 2020: The countertop is currently in need of (light) touch-ups around the sink itself. We had to postpone the remodel until this summer and this countertop has held up great. I couldn’t be happier with this product!

This color can be a little tricky to work with until you get the hang of how to apply it. I would suggest testing it on a piece or something else before applying. Once I had it, this product was a breeze to work with.

We recently bought a new house and won’t be gutting our master bathroom until next summer. I just couldn’t live another day with that 80’s green, so after reading lots of tutorials I decided to take the plunge and paint the countertop. I LOVE the results! After it dried for 24 hours, I applied several coats of poly and let it sit for 72 hours before using the countertop normally. It’s holding up like a dream. I wouldn’t use any harsh chemicals (but I would definitely advise against it), but other than that I have had no issues with it.

(I had done this before with a different paint from a different brand and the result was similar; it lasted several months of daily use like new before I decided to repaint because I didn’t really like the color).

I think this will hold up just fine until we remodel, and it looks great too. DEFINITELY better than that 80’s green!

Side note: I see a lot of negative reviews on this product because it is not suitable for people outdoors. USE A SEALANT. Don’t blame a product if you don’t use it properly. It’s not rocket science, folks.” —Mistella
