The most important weather news of the day: Possible tropical threat in the Caribbean

Chances of a tropical development of the Caribbean system increase

As tropical activity in the Atlantic ocean As winds calm down, attention will turn back to the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, where there are increasing signs that atmospheric conditions are favorable for the development of what could be the next named storm sometime next week.

The National Hurricane Center is now officially monitoring the area for tropical development. The agency currently estimates medium chances for development within the next seven days. According to the FOX Forecast Center, the development may worsen even after seven days.

Gordon’s remains among 3 tracked areas in the Atlantic

In the open Atlantic, the remnants of Gordon could once again develop into a tropical depression or tropical storm before moving into the North Atlantic.

Another well-defined low pressure system near Ex-Gordon has been designated Invest 96-L. Again, there is a small chance that it will at least develop into a tropical depression before moving north into the open ocean.

Over Africa, one or two disturbances will move from the continent into the Atlantic next week, farther south than most systems this year. Nothing to observe at the moment, but they seem to tell us that the hurricane season is returning to something approaching normal in September.

Thunderstorms passed through the upper reaches Midwest and Plains on Thursday, causing at least one tornado in Minnesota and damage in at least four other states. The storm activity formed along a cold front that extended from Canada to the southern plains.

Warnings were issued for more than 4 million residents in advance of the storms, including severe weather warnings and a tornado warning.
