ChatGPT down: This is what the company said about the two-hour outage

OpenAIs ChatGPT was down for some users on September 17, 2024. OpenAI acknowledged the issue and classified it as a “partial outage” on its official website. According to the company’s status page, the issue started around 3:50 p.m. PT. The issue, labeled as “Increased errors on some API models,” affected ChatGPT users around the world.

What the company said

“From about 3:50 p.m. PT API models had increased error rates. Engineers are actively investigating the issue and working on a fix,” the company said on a status page. According to the website, the issue is now resolved. “Engineers have implemented a fix and API requests are being restored as of 4:30 p.m. PT. The team is monitoring the update,” it added.
At around 5:56 p.m., the company announced that the incident had been resolved.

Another problem affected ChatGPT

The artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot had another problem related to the Workspace analysis Tab. Marked with “Workspace Analysis Tab is broken for ChatGPT Company Users”, this impacted ChatGPT Enterprise, which “returned no data”.
In an update, OpenAI stated: “A fix has been implemented and data processing is currently underway. All affected data should be fully available within the next 10 hours.”
“We have restored data for some of the affected users and continue to work diligently to resolve the issue for the remaining users,” the company said in another update.

ChatGPT users continue to experience problems

While the OpenAI status page says the issue has been resolved, some users reported issues with the AI ​​bot. Downdetector – the outage tracking website shows issues with ChatGPT.
