In the past, we’ve had guys like Ha-Ha Clinton Dix, Storm Duck, and even someone named Hot Rod Fitten. The fun names have even prompted 247Sports and other outlets to release their “All-Name” team each fall.

That’s not a nickname. His real name is General Booty.

The full name of General Booty

The University of Louisiana-Monroe quarterback Legal Name is General Maximus Axel Booty. His parents had planned to call him by his middle name Axel, but according to an interview with the Dallas Morning News, he only responded to General.

Who is General Booty’s father?

Booty’s father, Abram, played wide receiver at LSU in the late ’90s. Abram was reportedly “fascinated” by the military and always wanted to name his son Genera if he had one. Abram was a high school football coach at Sage Hill School and also wrote a script for a football movie called Work Horses, but the project never got the green light.

The Booty family has roots in Louisiana. While Abram played wide receiver, his brother (General’s uncle) Josh was a quarterback for the Tigers and was drafted into the NFL in 2001. He was originally a baseball player and spent two years with the then Florida Marlins.

General’s other uncle, John David, also played football and was a quarterback for USC. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2008 draft and played two years with the Vikings. John David was then on the Titans’ practice squad in 2009 and spent the 2010 preseason with the Texans before being released from the roster before the regular season.

What colleges did General Booty go to?

Booty bounced around between different high schools, attending two in California and two more in Texas, and eventually graduating from Allen High School in his hometown. Booty transferred to Tyler Junior College in 2021 and used a productive season to transfer to the University of Oklahoma.

He spent two seasons with the Sooners and then moved to ULM before the 2024 season.

General Booty’s Stats

Booty finished his time at Tyler College with 3,410 yards and 27 touchdowns, and the team finished 7-5. Despite spending two years at OU, Booty never got to put up stats. ULM had an early off week, so he only played in two games for the Warhawks.
