Washington Nationals vs. Chicago Cubs: Predictions, odds and tips

Washington Nationals vs. Chicago Cubs: Predictions, odds and tips

The Nats and Cubs return to action on Saturday for another afternoon game. The Cubs won Friday’s game 3-1, extending the Nats’ losing streak to 5 games. We could blame it on a lack of motivation, as this team has been out of the playoff race for what feels like months, but with a roster full of young players, they should still play hard and plan for the future. So the losing streak isn’t something I’m worried about. Instead, I’m betting on the Nats in my Washington Nationals vs. Chicago Cubs prediction.

I think Washington has a pitching advantage with MacKenzie Gore facing Kyle Hendricks. Gore spent several weeks battering the stadium during the dog days of summer, but he’s returned to more solid form in his last few starts. Hendricks is a guy I never trust, even though he hits well more often than he should. Lefties hit him well, though, at around .301, and most of the best hitters for Washington are lefties. I like that, especially when I get plus odds. I think this game should go in the Nats’ favor anyway, but if you give me plus money, I’ll take it. My pick on Nationals vs. Cubs is the Nats on the money line.

Nationals vs Cubs prediction: Washington ML (+120) available at time of publication. Playable up to +100.
