Fourth disturbance forms in the tropics; here’s what we know

We are currently observing four disturbances in the tropics, the latest of which is developing in the Atlantic.

Here’s what we know about these systems so far and what we can expect over the next seven days.

Central subtropical Atlantic (remains of Gordon)

Strong upper-level winds continue to keep showers and thunderstorms away from the center of a low-pressure system. Currently, the probability of the disturbance developing in the next 7 days is only 10% as it slowly moves northwestward.

Central Subtropical Atlantic (Invest 96L)

A low pressure system is producing some showers and thunderstorms. However, conditions do not seem to be favorable for the disturbance to develop. The probability of the disturbance developing in the next seven days is 10%.

Northwestern Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico

Early to mid-next week, an extensive low-pressure system is likely to form over the northwestern Caribbean and adjacent parts of Central America.

It is believed that this low pressure may gradually cause this disorder.

If the system moves slowly north or northeast, a tropical depression could form.

Regardless of its development, the system is expected to bring heavy rainfall to parts of Central America in the coming days.

Currently, the probability that the disorder will develop within the next seven days is 60%.

Eastern and Central Tropical Atlantic

A tropical wave is expected to move westward from the coast of Africa on Sunday or Monday.

A gradual development of this disorder is possible over the next seven days and is currently at a probability of 30%.
