Jennifer Garner has shared a glimpse inside her surprisingly “compact” bedroom in her sprawling $7.4 million mansion.
The 52-year-old finally moved into her “private paradise” with her children Violet (18), who is now studying at Yale University, Fin (15) and Samuel (12) after building her forever home from scratch.
While she already shared a glimpse inside the farmhouse-style property, on Tuesday she gave her followers another glimpse into her tranquil bedroom, which you can see in the video below.
In her Instagram story, the “Alias” star posted a close-up of her dark wooden nightstand, which features a docking station, a white marbled lamp and a copy of her latest book, “The Night We Lost Him” by Laura Dave.
Also visible in the photo is the navy blue upholstered headboard behind Jennifer’s luxurious-looking bed, which is covered with a white bedspread and matching pillows that match the room’s plain white walls.
Earlier this month, Jennifer gave her fans a better look into her private area, which she described as “tight and compact.”
“It wasn’t an area that I needed a ton of space for,” she said in a video shared on Instagram.
The room appears to be sparsely furnished, with a bed, nightstands, a bench, a large chair and cupboards. There are also a few framed prints hanging on the walls and floor-to-ceiling glass doors leading out to a private balcony.
After a long – and frustrating – search, Jennifer built and designed her home from the ground up.
Speaking to Architectural Digest, the mother of three said she knew early on in her search that she “wanted (the house) to feel old, cool and historic, but also to be suitable for a large family with a lot going on.”
Jennifer recalls her search for a new home, saying, “I looked and looked for a house to move into, but I needed privacy, and every house that offered privacy was too lavish for me to feel comfortable in.”
She added: “I was frustrated, but finally said to myself, ‘Okay, I think I need to build,’ and found this property.”
In 2019, a year after her divorce from Ben Affleck, she bought the land on which her house was eventually built for a reported $7.4 million.
She and her architect couple Steve and Brooke Giannetti were heavily inspired by Jennifer’s childhood in West Virginia, which is reflected in the heavy use of wood and the overall modern farmhouse look of the home.
“I had the idea of creating something that felt like a farmhouse and a barn,” Steve said, noting, “We wanted natural wood, coziness – a kind of warm hug of a home for her because she’s such a lovely person.”
Jennifer is overjoyed with the result: “I’m glad that we’re making really good use of the space and that the kids are everywhere in the house,” she said.
“You feel just as comfortable in the living room as you do doing your homework in the dining room. And that’s the dream, isn’t it?”
