  • Iowa State is 2-0 for the second time in the last three seasons and is expected to start 3-0 for the fourth time since 2010.
  • Campbell is in his ninth season leading the Cyclone program, making him the third-longest-tenured coach in program history and the third-longest active tenure in the Big 12 Conference. Campbell has led the Cyclones to 55 wins, second only to McCarney’s 56 wins. Among Big 12 coaches at their current schools, Campbell’s 55 wins are the fourth-most.
  • The last time the Cyclones played, they beat then No. 21 Iowa 20-19 to win the rivalry game for the second time in three seasons. ISU trailed the Hawkeyes 13-0 at halftime but won the game on a 54-yard field goal by a redshirt freshman Kyle Conrady. Konrardy was named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week (September 9) for his performance.

IN HONOR OF OSEMELE
Iowa State will induct former Cyclones offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele into the Hall of Fame on Friday night. Osemele, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, played for the Cyclones from 2008-11 and then nine seasons in the NFL. He won a Super Bowl with Baltimore in 2013 and was named First Team All-Pro in 2016. He will be honored during halftime of Saturday’s game.
