MSU impressed with a narrow 27-24 win over Maryland in its Big Ten opener and celebrated a dominant 40-0 victory over an inferior Prairie View A&M team, but now faces a test with Boston College and its quarterback Thomas Castellanos.

The Spartans are missing four receivers, including freshman receiver Nick Marsh, who stole the show against the Terrapins. Wideouts Jaron Glover and Antonio Gates Jr. have also been ruled out, as has Alante Brown, who suffered a serious injury in the opening game against Florida Atlantic. The Spartans are also dealing with injuries on the offensive line, so running back Nate Carter could have a tough job ahead of him as MSU looks to set the tone up front.
