At the game: Elon hosts ETSU on a busy Saturday in Rhodes

Elon, NC – The Elon football team hosts ETSU in a game that will give one team a career-making win on Saturday at 6 p.m. It’s going to be a busy day as the game is scheduled as Band Day and Scout Day. Earlier in the day, Elon hosts men’s soccer and volleyball games, both at 12 p.m.

Parking lots open at 1 p.m. for tailgating and the Rowdy Zone (formerly the Phoenix Fan Fest) opens at 2 p.m. The student theme is “Western Night,” so get your boots and cowboy hats out for the game.

Saturday’s game will be streamed on FloSports and televised via My48 in the Piedmont Triad market (Spectrum channel 15). Taylor Durham and Khirey Walker will be on the phone, with Hannah Bradey serving as the sideline reporter. Game audio commentary with Max Wallace and Chase Strawser can be streamed for free on your smartphone via the Varsity Network app. You can also listen on ElonPhoenix.com by clicking the live audio link on the schedule page. Coverage on the Varsity Network app will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the countdown to kickoff and conclude with the postgame Locker Room Report.

Tickets are available weekdays at the Schar Center box office or online at ElonPhoenix.com. Tickets go on sale at Rhodes Stadium 90 minutes before kickoff on Saturday. Those interested in attending the game can find the information below.

GUIDELINES FOR CLEAR BAGS

Elon Athletics has a clear bag policy at all home games. Visitors bringing bags into Rhodes Stadium must ensure that they are clear bags and no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″. Allowed items include purses, diaper bags, items related to a medical condition, and factory-sealed water bottles.

FIRE OF THE CAROLINAS MARCHING BAND

Get ready to stand behind our team on Saturday as the Fire of The Carolinas Marching Band kicks off the Phoenix Walk at 3:40 p.m., starting at Bank of America. We invite all fans to come and cheer them on as they make their way to the stadium. At approximately 4:50 p.m., you can see the band again as they march from the Center for the Arts to Rhodes Stadium in their brand new uniforms, stopping at various tailgating events along the way. Be sure to join in – cheer, sing and show your support for FOTC!

Once the party is over, the band marches into the stadium and takes to the field for a pre-match performance, starting 20 minutes before kick-off.

And don’t leave at halftime! Stay in your seats and enjoy the exciting halftime show by the FOTC Marching Band, as students from nine high schools join them to form a 200+ member band for the annual Elon University Band Day.

This week’s performance includes hits like “September” by Earh Wind & Fire, “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond and “Say Amen” by Panic at the Disco! Trust us, you won’t want to miss this spectacular show!

FOR THE CHILDREN

Phoenix Kids Club memberships, presented by Drake’s, are now available! Membership is free and includes a monthly newsletter with fun activities, exclusive opportunities with the Phoenix and free admission to games during the 2024-25 season. MATCHDAY PROGRAMS

Flash delay protocol

Elon Athletics Event Management will monitor for severe weather on game day. If severe weather approaches Rhodes Stadium, announcements will be made over the public address system.

If a thunderstorm with lightning is within eight miles of Rhodes Stadium, all guests in the facility will be instructed to seek shelter via loudspeaker announcements and video boards.

When the stadium is allowed to be re-entered, an announcement will be made via the loudspeaker system, the video wall, social media, radio and available streaming channels.

Lost and Found

The Rhodes Stadium Lost and Found office is located in the Ticket Office at the main entrance to the stadium. Lost and Found items must be dropped off at this location. Items not picked up on game day may be picked up the following business day by calling 336-278-6800.

PARK

All parking lots open five hours prior to game time (1:00 p.m.). CLICK HERE for a parking map. Parking is available to the public in the Hunt B parking lot for $20. Additional parking on game days can be found in the Colonnades and Innovation Quad parking lots. A free shuttle bus will stop at each of these locations beginning at 3:30 p.m. and will take you to a stop on Bank of America Drive at Rhodes Stadium.

Premium parking is available seasonally through the Phoenix Club. This includes the following lots: Ingold, Hunt A and Global Neighborhood. For more information on obtaining a parking space in these lots, please contact Kayla Timmons the Phoenix Club at 336-278-6781 or [email protected].

Handicapped parking is available in the Hunt A, Hunt B and Global Neighborhood parking lots on a first-come, first-served basis.

PETS

Pets are not allowed in Rhodes Stadium. Only service animals that are specifically trained to assist a person are permitted.

PHOENIX CLUB HOSPITALITY

All Phoenix Club members who have donated at least $250 this membership year (June 1, 2023 – May 31, 2024) are welcome to visit our hospitality area behind the Woods Center press box on the west side of the stadium. The area will open at kickoff and will offer light snacks and access to shortened lines for beverages and specialty concessions. Eligible members may enter behind Section 208 (a slight adjustment from previous years). Members may check in at the Phoenix Club tent by presenting their 2024-25 Phoenix Club wristband. Please have your wristbands ready when entering the hospitality tent.

The Rowdy Zone

The Rowdy Zone, formerly Phoenix Fan Fest, is the newest addition to the Elon football tailgating scene. Open for all six home games of the 2024 season, the Rowdy Zone offers FREE pregame entertainment for all fans starting four hours before kickoff. Located adjacent to the Ingold Lot (between Rhodes Stadium, Latham Baseball Park and the new Elon Baseball Performance Center), fans can participate in various tailgate games such as giant Jenga and cornhole. Fans can have their face painted with their favorite Elon flair by artists from Burlington-based Painted Grape or watch College Gameday and games from around the country on the 8′ x 15′ jumbo video screen. Kid-friendly blow-up games, a bounce house and a button maker will also be offered. The Rowdy Zone closes 10 minutes before kickoff.

RECREATIONAL VEHICLES (RVs)

Single-game RV passes for the Hunt B parking lot (the main parking lot behind Schar Center) are available for presale for each home game for $50 per game. Phoenix Club members with annual dues of $250 and above may also purchase a season RV pass for $50. RV parking passes may also be purchased on game day if spaces are available. The Arts West parking lot will remain a free area for RV parking. For more information, contact the Phoenix Club at 336-278-6781.

Tailgate

Parking lots will open at 1:00 p.m. so all fans can begin tailgating before the 6:07 p.m. kickoff. Detailed information on tailgating can be found here: CLICK HERE.

TICKETS

Tickets can be purchased from 4:30 p.m. at the Rhodes Stadium ticket counters. Cash (counter 4 only), Visa and MasterCard are accepted as payment methods for ticket purchases.

Fans can also utilize Elon’s digital ticketing. Fans can transfer unused tickets, print tickets from home, or access your tickets on your smartphone when you’re at the game.

DIRECTIONS

From the Greensboro area west of campus

Once you reach Elon/Burlington, take Interstate 85/40 to Exit 140 (University Drive). Take the exit ramp to the right and turn left at the light onto University Drive. Stay on University Drive for 4.1 miles and then turn right onto N. Williamson Avenue. Continue 0.3 miles until you reach Rhodes Stadium on your left.

From the Raleigh-Durham area east of campus
Once you reach Elon/Burlington, take Interstate 85/40 to Exit 140 (University Drive). Take the exit ramp to the right and turn right at the light onto University Drive. Stay on University Drive for 3.8 miles and then turn right onto N. Williamson Avenue. Continue 0.3 miles until you reach Rhodes Stadium on your left.

From the Danville, Virginia area, north of campus
Once you reach Elon/Burlington, take Highway 87 to Old Highway 87 and turn right onto Old Highway 87. Continue 0.1 miles before turning left onto Elon Ossipee Road. Continue 3.7 miles before turning right onto Shallowford Road. Continue 0.3 miles past the traffic light on University Drive until you reach Rhodes Stadium on the left.
