The Texas A&M football team hosts the Bowling Green Falcons in a Week 4 night game at Kyle Field.

The Aggies (2-1, 1-0 SEC) return to the top 25 of the national polls in Week 4 and will hope for a strong performance to keep them in the rankings.

Head coach Mike Elko faces the Falcons (1-1) for the first time since serving as defensive coordinator from 2009-2013, while defensive lineman Cashius Howell faces the team he transferred from in the offseason.

Score updates for Texas A&M vs. Bowling Green

After failing to get into the game on their previous two drives, the Aggies took the ball to the 11-yard line, aided by the running game. A&M managed a seven-play, 2-minute, 28-second drive that resulted in five runs, capped off by a 28-yard field goal by Randy Bond to extend their lead back to seven points.

After failing to score a point in the first quarter, the Falcons were able to sustain a charge aided by pass interference from Will Lee III and score three points. Bowling Green marched down the field and scored a seven-play charge that lasted 2 minutes, 10 seconds, cutting the lead to 7-3.

After the methodical attack to start the game, the Aggies’ offense went cold and couldn’t maintain a rhythm. Since starting 2 for 2 on third downs, A&M has gone 0 for 3, and their next two attacks ended in punts as the first quarter ended.

The Aggies offense started with an 11-play opening drive that was capped with a 27-yard touchdown pass from Reed to tight end Theo Melin Ohstrom. A&M went 3 of 3 on third and fourth downs, with Reed going 5 of 6 for 62 passing yards and the touchdown pass that gave the Aggies an early 7-0 lead.

Unlike last week, there was far less intrigue and mystery surrounding Marcel Reed’s expected start. When the Aggies came out for pregame warmups, Reed was seen stretching and throwing the football around while Weigman, in civilian clothes, cheered on his teammates. Elko had mentioned in a call with reporters on Monday that Weigman would play “week to week,” and later in the week did not provide any details on who would start. The answer appears to be Reed for the second time in two weeks.
