Numbers suggest that Rashid Shaheed, Chris Olave and the New Orleans Saints wide receiver corps could be in for a big game

Aside from the New England Patriots, who have played three games, the Philadelphia Eagles have allowed the fifth-most passing yards in the NFL.

If you reduce these yards solely to catches made by the receivers, the Eagles allow the third-most yards to wide receivers, despite having Darius Slay and Quinyon Mitchell as cornerbacks.

For Shaheed, that could mean more of the same. He was Derek Carr’s favorite target and his team’s leading yardage gainer against the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers. A majority of his yardage came by touchdown in this game. You could see him getting more targets and contributing more beyond the long shot.

Olave still feels like he’s not completely free. He was more productive in the second game. His 81 receiving yards are solid, but it still feels like there’s another level. That could simply be because the Saints are scoring so much that it feels like the best receiver should be putting up monster numbers.

This could be the game where Olave breaks the 100 mark or scores a touchdown. If the Saints are truly dangerous, Olave could do both for the first time this week.
