Clay Gardens Place joins Paws-itive partnership – WHIZ

ZANESVILLE, OH Another local business is contributing to the betterment of Animal Shelter Society this week with its Paws-itive partnership.

Clay Gardens Place, a senior living and assisted living facility, just completed their pet supply drive, collecting liquid laundry detergent, bleach, stuffed animals and Purina dog food to donate to the shelter.

“We are a community that allows pets in our facilities, so I thought there was no better way to bring this to the community than to partner with the animal shelter. Any resident, if they are willing, can have a cat or dog in our facility,” said Tyler Lasure, Senior Lifestyle Counselor at Clay Gardens Place.

The Animal Shelter Society also plans to give back to Clay Gardens Place for its support.

“The Clay Gardens concept of allowing them to keep animals is part of our mission statement and we respect that very much. So, yes, when he came along and said we want to be partners, we were all for it and will continue to do so. We will do a few other things with them that come to mind,” said Animal Shelter Society Executive Director April Gibson.

Also this week at The Animal Shelter Society we have a Pet of the Week. Meet Spots! Spots is a five-year-old Dachshund-Terrier mix who is available for adoption. He loves playing in the pool and riding in the car.

“He would be great for an older couple or someone who – you know, some of these dogs are so big they get pulled. He’s very easy to walk, he’s just a good dog. We just have to be careful that he doesn’t go into a home that has a cat,” Gibson said.

If you are interested in adopting Spots or would like more information, you can visit the Animal Shelter Society website.
