MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (KFVS) – The Big Muddy Monster Brew Fest is scheduled to take place in October.
According to a press release, Revitalize 62966 and the Big Muddy Monster Brew Fest Committee announced that the Big Muddy Monster Brew Fest will take place on Saturday, October 5th from noon to 4 p.m. at Riverside Park in Murphysboro, Illinois.
Brew Fest is a community event where attendees can not only sample a wide variety of beer, cider, mead and other beverages, but also experience food trucks, games and a home brewing contest. This year also introduces the chalk art contest.
The BMMBF is a major fundraiser for Revitalize 62966. Projects the BMMBF has funded include $40,000 to Murphysboro Main Street to restore the old depot, $30,000 for Frisbee golf at Riverside Park, $10,000 for the Liberty Theater, $10,000 to Jackson/Union Habitat for Humanity, $500 to the City & Jackson County Housing Authority for Bridgewood’s new basketball court, and other funds for the Arts Committee, Humane Society, and Murphysboro Park District.
In October 2023, the festival attracted around 1,200 visitors to Riverside Park.
